Friends, many of you are wondering how you can walk forward, how life goes on after a tragedy like the shooting at Saugus High. I provided a few thoughts and resources in my post yesterday, and today I want to recommend two books, one of them written by a local teacher.
Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy was written by an Indianapolis pastor from the depths of his own personal heartache of losing a child as well as walking his community through the tragedy of a school shooting. The author recognized that 1/3 of the Psalms contain a raw complaint to God–Life is hard, how does this work? He looks at those Psalms and the hope that comes from them.
Adam Holland, a graduate of The Master’s College and social studies teacher at West Ranch has written a book called Anchored in the Storm: Pursuing Christ in the Midst of Life’s Storms, available on Amazon. Adam wrote this book as a reflection on his diagnosis, treatment, and recovery from brain cancer. Saugus High, if you are looking for answers, Mr. Holland can point you in the right direction.
