I have written about Poverty Encounter before here, but, as you can guess, this multi-sensory immersive experience is closed due to California’s “Safer at Home” restrictions. Although we are praying we will be able to reopen soon, in the meantime, you now have another opportunity to experience Poverty Encounter–online.
The first video walks you into Jasmine’s story in Haiti and includes additional activities for primary and middle school aged children to extend their knowledge and understanding of other children’s realities around the world. Another video with activities will follow next week.
In addition to “visiting” Poverty Encounter, if you are looking for more resources to learn together with your kids, check out the materials produced by Children’s Hunger Fund for the Answers in Genesis Vacation Bible School programs–all newly on-line with additional resources for you to download. My colleague Frankie wrote a guest post for me last month about his kids engaging with these materials.
During these Covid Days, opportunities have increased for all of us to care for people in their isolation, hunger, and despair. Children’s Hunger Fund has seen God provide in some amazing ways to help churches around the world extend that care to their congregations and communities. Would you pray with us that God would give give us strength to make the right connections to receive His gifts and to get them out to churches?
